Untapped potential vs 3-point shooting

This potential trade below will split the fan base. Ferguson is just 21-year-old and has established himself as a starter thanks to his exceptional defensive ability. Presti rarely trades young players way but for the right piece is more than happy to pull the trigger.

This trade depends on how much each team values their respective players. Ferguson has earned the respect of OKC’s starters by playing sensational defense on the NBA’s best scorers while Harris went from waivers to a solid rotation player in Brooklyn.

Win-win for both teams?

All that being said, Brooklyn receives a young asset under team control for the next three years. Ferguson is a defensive ace whose learned from arguably the best perimeter defender in the NBA in Andre Roberson. This deal would essentially see Sean Marks flip a player on waivers into a 2017 first-round pick and a future second-round selection.

Additionally, the transaction gives the Nets an extra $5-million-dollars (approximately) to spend in next years free agency with the franchise looking to secure two max free agents.

As for Oklahoma City, the Thunder receives a player leading the league in 3-point percentage. Harris is shooting a scorching 49.2 percent from three on 5.1 attempts and can hit triples in a variety of ways. While it would be sad to see Ferguson go, this would be a tremendous offensive upgrade on the perimeter.
