Social Interactions:

In a world at which whole countries that were once completely foreign territories are now at our fingertips, it provides such an incredible opportunity for fans of any kind. You can interact, show support and/or criticism, and wish well to nearly anyone on social media. The connection you feel when you receive a response from your idol is a cherishable moment.

I’ve had the pleasure to interact with the famous Antonio Daniels, the dearly missed Fred Katz and the sensational Lesley McCaslin. It’s a hard thing to type, saying that Thunder Nation will bid adieu to another integral piece of the OKC Thunder realm.

Especially considering all of the backlash surrounding OKC Thunder’s relationship with media sources that will remain unnamed for the sake of this article. It is so important to have a media squad that cares about the franchise. And that is precisely what we have with the FOX Sports Oklahoma team.

In her blog, Lesley writes a goodbye letter to OKC Thunder Nation. A goodbye that seems just as hard for her to write as it is for us to read.

"For the past seven years, Chesapeake Arena has been my happy place. No matter what is going on, I could walk into that arena and all was right in the world. It wasn’t just basketball, but all of the people who work in and around the Thunder organization. They became my family; my home away from home."

There’s that word again: family. She goes on to outline her experience with the franchise and its crazy personalities that make up the organization. She even breaks the news that she almost said no to us. Can you imagine that? An OKC Thunder world without Lesley? Unfortunately, that reality will hit next season.

Until then, here’s the scoop on the bright, smiling face that has graced us for seven years. How she landed in OKC, how she built a career for herself, and how she has managed to be here for us while her family has kept the home fires burning for her in Texas.
