Key takeaways from 2019 NBA Draft Combine including OKC Thunder draft promise

Whispers of team interest for specific players:

The fact the Cavaliers are interested in RJ Barrett isn’t that surprising. Although there are critics who’ll point to his shooting I’d counter with the fact RJ is 19 and changed his shooting mechanics this past season.

OKC Thunder fans know all too well how changing just one little thing from your mechanics or routine can dramatically affect a shot. Just ask Russell Westbrook how it affected him at the free throw line when he wasn’t able to do his typical routine of walking back to center court between free throws.

To land RJ though the Cavaliers would need to serve up a deal beyond swapping picks three for five with the Knicks (assuming the Grizzlies are committed to Ja Morant). And with this classes talent so thin the advantage lies with the Knicks.  For a team like the Cavaliers who are in full on rebuild mode, I’m not sure giving up numerous picks is wise.
