Pro Comparison:

Grant Williams will never be a leader of a team, a get on my back and let’s carry this team to the playoffs type guy. But Grant Williams will be a great complimentary piece to a team looking to compete.

At his peak, Grant Williams can be a Lou Williams level player. He will not pour in 50 points in a single game, but he can run the show with a team’s second unit to keep the offense not only afloat but thriving until the regulars get back into the game.

If Grant Williams is given a chance to grow and put into the right system, I could see him projecting into a Draymond Green like player. Williams is already a very good, smart defender, and an above average playmaker. With the right teammates to dish the ball to and get him open, and if he takes a leap on defense at the next level, Williams could be a poor man’s Draymond Green.

Current Ranking:

Fit with OKC

The OKC Thunder need some more scoring off the bench, and Grant Williams can provide that scoring. He is a crafty finisher and someone who can lead the charge for the second unit. Williams would help score the basketball with Paul George and Russell Westbrook on the floor as well. If only he could shoot…But the OKC Thunder admittedly cannot wait for that. They are running out of times, believe it or not, to get this right. They haven’t made it out of the first round in the Paul George era, and with no roster flexibility, the improvements for this team have to come in the draft.

While Grant Williams is an NBA ready player, he does not fix the OKC Thunder shooting woes.

The window is closing, and as OKC Thunder fans, we understand it happens in a blink. Simply put, the Thunder does not have time to sit around and wait and hope Williams develops a shot.
