Potential reunion with Dennis Schroder

Muscala and current Thunder guard Dennis Schroder’s careers somewhat intertwined. The pair came into the league together, as members of the 2013 NBA Draft class. They spent the first five seasons of their careers in Atlanta with the Hawks, and when Schroder departed the ATL via trade last summer, Muscala was also included in the deal.

Over the course of five season’s, Muscala and Schroder played in a combined 169 games together. The duo shared the court for a total of 1337 minutes, during that time span the Hawks were a minus-145 in the plus/minus.

In his rookie season, Muscala was not a stretch four, as he attempted only three treys. In their final season together, in 2017-18, Schroder and MM appeared in a seldom ten games together. The three-year stretch, between 2014-2017, Muscala shot 41.7 percent from the perimeter on passes from Schroder.

For what it’s worth, this past season on passes from Schroder that led to a 3-point attempt; Jerami Grant shot 34.5 percent, Markieff Morris posted a 31.3 percent accuracy, and Patrick Patterson connected on 28.0 percent of his treys. Suffice to say Muscala should provide an upgrade to OKC’s previous spacing situation.
