Remember when people questioned if Paul George could hit game-winners? Well, his first-ever was in an OKC uniform.

Paul George scored 47 points and was a plus 12 on this night. PG13 put on a show in Brooklyn including15 rebounds and four assists with a steal to add to his resume.

Russell Westbrook logged a triple-double in this tightly contested game between the Thunder and young Nets. Westbrook went for 15 rebounds and 17 assists to accompany his 21 points.

Russ also helped George make his first-ever game-winning shot.

Down one point, with eight seconds left, the Thunder went for it all. Billy Donovan set up the best play in his Thunder career out of a timeout.

Dennis Schroder inbounded the ball from the sideline to Russell Westbrook at the edge of the Nets mid-court logo. These last-second shots are normally for Westbrook, so that seemed like the route the team was about to take. George comes around and up to set Westbrook a screen and slips to the break of the 3-point line.

The Nets instinctively double team Westbrook, as per design of the Thunder play wanting the defense to zone in on Westbrook leaving their best shooter wide open. The Nets defense tries to quickly recover but George unleashes a great pump fake after a great pass from Westbrook to send the defender flying past him.

A side step and shot three later and PG13 hit his first game-winner.

For what it’s worth – George turned in the most game winners of the 2018-19 season.
