OKC Thunder acquires Danilo Gallinari, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, five first-round picks, and two draft swaps:

This was a behemoth of a trade for OKC. Not only did they get a record number of first-rounders, but they were able to get Danilo Gallinari who averaged a career-high 19.8 points per game last season and the first building block of their rebuild in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Remember the trade that Boston made with Brooklyn in 2013? And remember how Boston controlled the Nets’ draft for years following? Think about how great of a trade that was for Boston and that was just four first-round picks, OKC got seven for Paul George.

More from Thunderous Intentions

This could go down as one of the best trades in history if Presti is able to capitalize on all of that draft capital. This is even more impressive when you realize that George asked out of OKC and monopolized his preferred destination to one team.

OKC was still able to pull a ton of value out of the trade. All of this developed within just a few days time span too and Presti was able to keep it completely under wraps. Not a single rumor of this trade was leaked until it was a done deal.

This is a trade many fans will always be able to remember where they were when the news broke. It was disappointing and completely shocking to Thunder fans as their worlds were flipped upside down in seconds following the announcement.

Not many were immediately excited, but after sitting back and digesting it, this has the potential to be an excellent haul for OKC.

This trade is so great that you’re probably wondering how it isn’t number one and you will find out on the next slide.
