No. 5: San Antonio Spurs – Coyote

I’ll admit it. I’m extremely biased pertaining to anything involving the San Antonio Spurs. They have been my favorite team since childhood, but Coyote’s eyes have always terrified me. Even today I can’t look him in the eye for longer than 3 seconds without feeling immensely uncomfortable.

Somehow San Antonio fans have learned to endure this gargantuan shortcoming, and have embraced Coyote for the loving mascot that he is.

I heard a rumor that Coyote has all the charisma and personality that Tim Duncan lacked. To maintain full transparency, I haven’t been able to confirm or deny this claim. I do know that his jersey number is indeed inspired by Tim Duncan.

I have been able to confirm that other than his nefarious and erroneous looking pupils, he remains a staple for the Spurs fanatics.

Coyote has never lacked emotion and character development. In fact, he’s ranked so high on this list because he’s one of the few mascots that are able to make their performances feel genuine and papable.

I put Coyote here because I think every part of his appearance is on point, excluding his crazy eyes of course.
