With the annual OKC Thunder Media Day complete let’s reflect back on three new insights we learned about this year’s team.

An offseason resulting in a great deal of roster turnover means fans have much to learn about this iteration of the OKC Thunder. The writing team of Thunderous Intentions has endeavored to offer insights on the new players in terms of their capabilities and previous performances. However, getting to hear directly from the players helps us gain a better understanding of the player’s personalities. For many, media day was the first chance to hear directly from the new additions as well as returning favorites.

Over the next few days, the team will engage in their mini training camp followed by an abbreviated preseason schedule.

As T.I. previously noted it was anticipated Sam Presti would add players to the camp roster to reach the 20 allowed. T.I.’s previous article updated on the addition of DeVaughn Akoon-Purcell and provided the other 17 players headed to camp with our presumption the previously signed Eric Moreland would be included. As per the official Thunder news release, the final two additions are guard Abdul Gaddy and small forward Myke Henry. Both players are former members of the OKC Blue.

Camp will last up to the OKC Thunder first preseason game on October 8 when the club will play the first of two games versus the Dallas Mavericks.

With that, let’s dive into the five key insights we learned at the 2019-20 OKC Thunder Media Day sessions.
