B+. . PG. Oklahoma City Thunder. CHRIS PAUL

It may not be the type of stat line which jumps off the page but it was no less effective and important. Paul set the standard immediately. His energy was palpable and fans even got to witness the more direct Paul who was caught barking a few times. Most notably at Dennis Schroder on an inbounds play.

It wasn’t the type of bark where he was doling out sarcasm. Rather, it was that of a leader who was bound and bent his team was getting the ‘W’ today.

His stat line of 10 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal appear modest. But, he was dialed in defensively, connected on both his 3-point attempts almost as if inserting a dagger to the Warriors’ heart and he had zero turnovers.

A+. . G/F. Oklahoma City Thunder. SHAI GILGEOUS-ALEXANDER

What can be said that hasn’t already been noted about this rising young star. Every game fans get to see something new from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

It’s been three games and we’ve witnessed perimeter prowess, adeptness at driving a scoop shot with either hand all while he can drop a dime in the perfect location.

What stands out is his smoothness and agility. I noted on our Twitter account yesterday that I’ve never called a player’s game pretty but that’s the best word I can come up with to describe him.

Whatever happens this season, Thunder Nation has a very special talent in SGA. Ironically, the fanbase adored the aggressive intensity of Russell Westbrook and have just as easily fallen for the sleekness and precision of Gilgeous-Alexander.

SGA scored 19 points, grabbed an impressive nine boards, dished four assists and had two blocks.
