OKC Thunder: NBA Draft stock up, stock down report 2.0
By Rylan Stiles
Jordan Bowden, G, Tennessee
Jordan Bowden was not on my top 60 players entering this College Basketball/NBA Draft season. It was a mixture of Tennessee poised for a step back with all of their talent lost and the fear he could not sustain his level of play without the help around him of Grant Williams, Schofield, and Bone.
More from Thunderous Intentions
- Stealing one player from every Southwest Division team for the OKC Thunder
- Should the OKC Thunder chase after a disgruntled hometown hero?
- 3 OKC Thunder players who can step up in Aleksej Pokusevski’s absence
- Aleksej Pokusevski sidelined approximately 6 weeks with ankle injury
- Damian Lillard does not fit with the OKC Thunder
Tennessee just took down the Washington Huskies over the weekend, beating their pattened zone defense, and top tier big man duo, led by Jordan Bowden. The Vols are off to an undefeated start, and the main catalyst has been the Senior guard.
Jordan Bowden against the Huskies went for 18 points, three assists, and six rebounds. Bowden also got a pair of steals and stroked the 3 balls at a 60 percent clip.
The Senior posted 26 points on 26 minutes with two rebounds and an assist. He continued to light the nets on fire with 75 percent shooting from deep going six for eight from beyond the arc. From the floor, Bowden still shot over 50 percent.
Jordan Bowden will be exciting to follow down the stretch of November before the second NBA Draft big board comes out in December, with matchups against Florida State and Purdue lined up.
So has Bowden done enough to crack my top sixty players? As of right now, absolutely. Of all those listed here, Bowden’s stock has seen the biggest jump this week. The win and production over Washington is huge.
