Versus the Texas Legends

On the second night of a back to back, the OKC Blue were never in the contest against the Texas Legends. The Legends took an early lead, scoring the first eight points before the Blue got on the board. The run ended at 12-2 in favor of the Legends.

From there, Lugentz Dort did his best to get the Blue back into the contest to no avail. The Legends would end up leading at the end of the quarter 37-26.

From there, things only got worse for the Blue. The Legends continued to pour on the offense, winning the second period 36-26. The Blue went into the break down 73-52.

The second half was a little better for the Blue. They pulled the margin back13 points at the end of the third period. This was the only quarter they won, getting the margin down to just eight points, 96-88 to end the quarter.

More from Thunderous Intentions

However, from there the Legends just controlled the flow of the game, only allowing the margin to drop back into single figures once more for the entire game, running out eventual winners 127-116.

The loss put the Blue out of the top six teams in the Western Conference after starting the week in second place. This is how tight the standings are at this early point in the season. Dort was at his explosive best, scoring 32 points on 10-of-14 shooting.

DeVaughn Akoon-Purcell had 18 points and nine rebounds. Abdul Gaddy had 16 points and six assists. Myke Henry had 14 points to go along with eight rebounds. Justin Patton 13 points and also collected eight rebounds. Sedrick Barefield also added 12 points for the Blue.

Devon Hall had his worst game of the season, not connecting on any of his seven field goal attempts for the game. He did have seven rebounds and five assists but there is a good chance he will stay with the Blue until he regains his form.
