Best OKC Thunder Reserve:

A+. . PG. Oklahoma City Thunder. DENNIS SCHRODER

On a night when Gallo’s shot wasn’t falling with the same efficiency Dennis Schroder seemingly channeled him in his 13 of 18 field goals for his game-high 31 points.

More impressive was his game-high NINE assists. This is the Dennis Schroder everyone was hoping would rise after his strong FIBA performance. He’s reveling in this new system and big credit goes to Chris Paul, Billy Donovan, and Shai who are all making Dennis recognize his importance to the team.

In seasons past it always felt like he was forcing to get his shot attempts but with the confidence of his teammates he’s letting the game dictate his shot attempts and it’s paying huge dividends for both him and the team.

Best Opponent:

A. . C. Orlando Magic. NIKOLA VUCEVIC

More from Thunder News

The Magic are missing arguably their best player with Jonathan Isaac out which puts more pressure on Nikola Vucevic. It’s not that Isaac is going to lead the scoring but his defense is top-level and what that affords Vuc on the offensive end is huge.

The fact he’s still putting up big numbers is a testament to his dedication and ownership of trying to lead his Magic squad. As witnessed, this Magic team is much tougher than their record indicates.

Vucevic collected a massive double-double of 24 points 11 rebounds plus chipped in five assists three steals (well above his season average of 0.9) and a block.
