They expect to get Luka Doncic back in week 17 just prior to the break and are in desperate need to add him back into the mix.
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist isn’t a player who’ll bring much in terms of fixing one of the biggest issues the Mavericks have which is clutch time scoring. That said, he will potentially fill some of the void lost via Dwight Powell and definitely offer some defensive prowess.
Kristaps Porzingis has discovered more of his offense with Luka out. The key moving forward will be getting the unicorn and the wunderkid to feast simultaneously.
