CP3 delivers commanding 30 point effort versus Portland:
In his second greatest scoring effort of the season, Paul took control against the Portland Trail Blazers on January 18th.
Not only did he provide a big 30 point game but he also dished out seven dimes, four rebounds, and a trio of 3-point daggers.
With just 31.5 seconds to go in the first half, Paul received the ball from Darius Bazley who pulled down a defensive rebound and raced down the other side of the court.
The Point God didn’t hesitate but instead bolted straight down the floor, pulling up behind the arc, and drained a terrific triple. It was just one of many great moments from CP3 throughout the game in which he wowed fans once again.
Honorable mention: a special victory to end the decade:
Another crunch time classic involving the great Chris Paul has to get recognized. This time it was extra special because it was the last Thunder game of not only 2019 but the decade.
Paul and OKC finished the year on a bang defeating Dallas 106-101 in spite of the Mavericks holding a seven-point lead going into the final few minutes.
13 of his 17 points were scored in the last 4:31 of the match. Eight rebounds, seven assists, and a steal also rounded out the rest of Paul’s stat sheet.

It was a scintillating and unforgettable finish to something truly exceptional that the Thunder had built this season. The victory took them to a record of 11-4 in the month of December and as we now know gave them momentum going forward to continue their success into the new year.
Regardless of what team you root for or who your favorite player is, you can’t help but admire how hard Chris Paul has worked this year and the way in which he has guided the OKC Thunder.

If and when the season resumes Paul deserves to be recognized in some way for what he has done. He may say otherwise but one thing I noticed is that often he is happy to acknowledge others as ‘unsung heroes.’
This time, CP3 I will say that you are an unsung hero for all that you have done for OKC.
