Washington Wizards:

The absence of Bradley Beal and Davis Bertans meant the Wizards weren’t exactly going to feast in the bubble. Trailing the Magic and Nets by six games also was a big hurdle to overcome. But, the mindset of the Wizards versus a team like the Phoenix Suns proved how culture and identity make a difference.

To win only one game amplifies how poorly this squad played especially since the Boston Celtics rested all their stars. The Wizards played the 12th most difficult schedule facing opponents with a cumulative win total of 298.

Somewhat surprisingly the Wizards also registered the worst offensive rating of the 22 teams. That was the one area the team performed well throughout the season which speaks to how little they cared about winning.

Rui Hachimura and Thomas Bryant gained some experience but otherwise, there weren’t many positives to pull from the bubble experience for Washington.
