OKC Thunder: Luguentz Dort contract and season grades
Contract grade
The OKC Thunder got a potential future All-NBA defensive player initially for the cost of a two-way deal. This would appear to be genius on behalf of the OKC Thunder front office. They certainly saw something in him when they signed him to that deal.

- Should the OKC Thunder chase after a disgruntled hometown hero?
- 3 OKC Thunder players who can step up in Aleksej Pokusevski’s absence
- Aleksej Pokusevski sidelined approximately 6 weeks with ankle injury
- Damian Lillard does not fit with the OKC Thunder
To get the production last year for the cost of 0.15 million is almost criminal. However, thanks to the way he played, Dort signed a minimum salary deal with the Thunder for $1.5 million next season. The two seasons after that are only partially guaranteed.
While this looks like Presti has shorted Dort, he was constrained by the salary cap situation next season where the Thunder already has $107 million in committed salary. If Dort continues to produce then his payday will come.
Contract grade: A+
Season grade
From the time that Dort came into the OKC Thunder varsity squad, he never looked like going back to the OKC Blue. His coach had such confidence in him that he left him on the court in high-pressure situations.
It only took a really short time for Dort to cement his position with the team thanks to the defensive prowess. He worked on his offensive perimeter game as well, but it was still a little inconsistent. This was the only reason he did not receive top marks.
