OKC Thunder – Wizards draft deal includes Admiral Schofield
Details on the OKC Thunder draft-night trade with the Wizards for Vit Krejci were updated to include Admiral Schofield.
The OKC Thunder have been extremely busy since the trade moratorium ended. They traded Chris Paul, Abdel Nader, and Dennis Schroder. They then flipped other parts of these trades, accruing assets at an incredible rate.
They have jettisoned Deonte Burton by not exercising his team option. Mike Muscala has exercised his player option to go around again. This is a vote of confidence in the Thunder as they are about to enter a season where no one is going to be sure of their roles.
Then there was the trade in the second round of the 2020 NBA draft where the Thunder acquired the draft rights to Vit Krejci, who was taken with the 37th pick for pick 53 and a 2024 second-round pick.

Now that the trade has been completed, the OKC Thunder have been able to release the full details. There were rumors abounding that there was a player involved and these rumors were correct. The Wizards added Admiral Schofield into the deal.
Schofield has just finished his rookie season with the Wizards where he averaged 3.0 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 0.5 assists per game. His 3-point shooting was way down on his college days where he shot the ball at 41.5 percent in his final year at Tennessee.
The Thunder are going to want to see more of the Tennessee Schofield than the version that was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers, before being cut and picked up by the Wizards. The joy of a rebuild is that you have the chance to see what a player is capable of without the pressure
While Schofield is not a marquee piece, it would be good to see him become a serviceable role player for the Thunder. If not, then his contract can be used in further trades or assigned to the G-League when that becomes possible.
