The OKC Thunder signed Frank Jackson as a free agent this offseason. Let’s look at three goals for 2020-21.

Signed as one of the many offseason moves by the OKC Thunder, Frank Jackson has been impressive so far. While he looks to be the third-string point guard behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Theo Maledon, he should get plenty of playing time this season.

He has played more than 20 minutes in each of the first two preseason games and has not wasted any of them. In his first game, Jackson played just under 24 minutes and totaled 14 points, two rebounds, two assists, and one steal. He shot the ball 6-of-11 from the floor and 2-of-4 from deep.

In the second preseason game, he played 20 minutes, totaling 15 points, two rebounds, and one assist. He was even more efficient going 6-of-9 from the floor and 3-of-4 from deep. All of this points to a future player for the OKC Thunder.

How Frank Jackson has a head start on other OKC Thunder players.

Jackson has already played two seasons in the NBA with the New Orleans Pelicans. His numbers were good as a reserve, averaging 7.2 points, 1.8 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 0.4 steals in 16.4 minutes of game time.

He was not one of the players included in the Steven Adams trade, choosing to come to the OKC Thunder on his own. He signed a two-year deal worth $3.5 million. The first year is partially guaranteed and the second year is not guaranteed at all.

He is backing himself to show the Thunder organization that he is worth keeping around. This mindset is great for a rebuilding franchise. With all that in mind, let’s take a look at three goals for Frank Jackson’s 2020-21 season.
