Season goal for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander No. 2) Pass More.

While SGA led the Thunder with 19.0 points per game, he was often the player finishing the play after Chris Paul helped get him open. He also had Danilo Gallinari shooting the ball lights out from deep which helped space the floor.

However, when teams cut his driving lanes off, SGA struggled to get the ball into the hoop. The main reason was that his game grew in almost every aspect except for his assists. If he got the ball in a decent position, he was going to try and score, not pass.

This season SGA has a heap less talent around him and this is going to mean that he is going to get even more defensive attention. Finding a way to spread the defensive is going to be crucial for SGA’s game to expand.

Due to teams undoubtedly sending multiple defenders at SGA, if he can find the open player, the opposition is going to have to respect the rest of the team offensively. With the Thunder being such a young team, the offense is going to focus on ball movement anyway so this goal will also work well with what the new coaching staff is looking to implement with the squad.
