OKC Thunder target No. 2) Nickeil Alexander-Walker, New Orleans Pelicans

Next up, we have another 2019 first-round draft pick in Nickeil Alexander-Walker.

Selected 17th overall by the New Orleans Pelicans, the shooting guard was tabbed by many as one of the best shooters coming into the draft, as he shot 38 percent from beyond the arc throughout his two-year stint with Virginia Tech.

Now, in his second year in NOLA, Alexander-Walker has proven himself to be a sound defensive presence with a struggling jump shot, stroking it at just 34 percent for his career (though is in possession of promising mechanics), and in competition with Eric Bledsoe, Josh Hart, and JJ Reddick for playing time.

With all of this considered, it’s safe to saw NAW could be seen as a buy-low candidate that the OKC Thunder should consider.

At just 22-years-old he fits the timeline in which the team is on and, with his skill-set, could prove to be a solid rotation piece moving forward.

Add in the fact that he’s the cousin of franchise player Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and you have both the potential and family aspects as reasons for why the Thunder should consider pursuing the Pelicans’ young baller.
