OKC Thunder trade target No. 3) Karl-Anthony Towns

Easily the best player to be found on this list, Karl-Anthony Towns would be an unbelievable grab for the OKC Thunder should he become available this season.

Coming into the year, rumors started to circulate that the All-Star has grown tired of Minnesota and, according to a source, was seen as “good as gone.”

Now, through 21 games, they hold the league’s worst record of 5-16, have lost five of their last six outings, and, in turn, have given the center absolutely zero reasons to have him believe that a turnaround is on the horizon for this ball club.

Though the trade rumors may have subsided a bit since the start of the season, because of the tumultuous play from the T-Wolves, should things continue it could only be a matter of time before they begin to spark back up again.

Though missing a large chunk of the season to start due to contracting COVID-19, the big man is still posting stellar averages of 22 points, 12.5 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 2.8 blocks per game on 46 percent shooting from the field and 38 percent shooting from deep.

At just 25-years-old, Towns is in the earlier stages of his prime and has already established himself as arguably the best center in the entire league.

Essentially, this whole piece has been devoted to pairing Shai Gilgeous-Alexander with a stud partner, and KAT would be exactly that and more.

It would certainly cost a sizeable amount of draft capital in exchange, as the Wolves would be entering a full-out rebuild should they opt to go this route, but attaining a talent such as Towns would be totally worth it and, frankly, with the amount they have in their possession, they can reasonably afford it.

The prospects of having the big-bodied (6-11, 248-pounds) center running alongside a budding star guard on a franchise that has seen an unbelievable amount of success throughout their less-than 20-year run is something that fans of the OKC Thunder, the front office, and Karl-Anthony Towns should be very interested in seeing come to life.
