Seemingly since his arrival to the OKC Thunder this past offseason, George Hill has been seen as someone not long for the Sooner State.

Acquired in the deal that sent Steven Adams to the New Orleans Pelicans, the veteran guard is someone best served on a win-now team rather than on a roster in the midst of a rebuild.

As the days go by, Hill’s stock seemingly rises every day, for there are a bevy of teams that could stand to benefit from his defensive chops, substantial experience, and long-range shooting success.

Three teams have been linked as destinations for OKC Thunder guard George Hill

We here at TI have gone about thinking up potential landing spots for Hill, and have listed the Los Angeles Clippers, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Philadelphia 76ers are a few potential destinations.

Recently, Bleacher Report jumped into the mix of thinking up teams that could be interested in the 34-year-old and tabbed the Dallas Mavericks, Golden State Warriors, and Phoenix Suns as three potential suitors.

These teams make complete sense for a guy like Hill, as the Suns could use for a cheap scoring option (rank 19th in points per game), Dallas could use for a 3-point shooter (rank 25th in 3-point percentage), and the Warriors could use for another ball-handler outside of Stephen Curry.

In the article, writer Dan Favale points out that Hill checks off all these boxes while pointing out how inexpensive his contract is.

"The 61.5 percent clip he’s posting on drives ranks fourth among 89 players averaging at least seven downhill attacks per game, and his 38.6 percent success rate on threes actually suggests he has room to improve. He’s canning 47.5 percent of his catch-and-shoot treys—attempts that should account for a fatter share of his offensive profile on a better team. It’ll be interesting to see what the Thunder get in exchange for Hill. His $1.3 million guarantee for next season increases his value to any teams looking to cut costs, and Oklahoma City has both the timeline and maneuverability under the tax to absorb some longer-term money if it heightens the return."

With a little over a month to go till the March 25th trade deadline, we expect many more playoff-bound teams will find themselves linked to George Hill. Should the OKC Thunder manage to bring back a pick of perhaps a young/ raw talent, it will once again be a fine move made by Sam Presti and co.
