The OKC Thunder approach the March 25th NBA Trade Deadline in possession of a multitude of potential outcomes.

While they have managed to impress fans through the first half of this 2020-21 campaign, it is the belief of many that Sam Presti and co. will inevitably lean more into the tank by trading off some of their more valuable veteran assets such as Trevor Ariza, Al Horford, and the always rising stock of George Hill.

In regard to the latter talent, Hill is a player that is viewed as a hot commodity around the league and, in turn, will likely be sought after by plenty of NBA franchises.

Could the Wizards be a potential destination for the OKC Thunder veteran?

Recently, Bleacher Report went about and added another potential landing spot into the mix by insinuating the Washington Wizards could be a surprise destination for the veteran point guard.

Citing the team’s recent resurgence, writer Zach Buckley believes that, should the Wizards look to vie for a playoff spot by season’s end, the front office may want to look into ‘small-medium purchases’ to help better surround their stars.

In his mind, Hill fits this mold beautifully:

"He is hitting 61.5 percent of his looks on drives—a top-four mark among 154 players who have taken at least as many shots in such situations. His 38.6 percent clip from deep should climb when he’s orbiting Beal and Westbrook.Nobody expects Hill to finish the season with the Oklahoma City Thunder, per ESPN’s Tim Bontemps, so he should be considered extremely available. Washington has the combination of contracts to make the money work."

We at TI are very open to the idea of the OKC Thunder trading away George Hill, and have gone about listing several franchises we believe could be in the race to attain him come the deadline.

The question in regard to Washington being a potential trade partner is, who would they be willing to give up to acquire him?

They have minimal first-rounders to offer and the majority of their young players have shown either little promise or are unattainable for just Hill alone.

Digging deeper on the matter will be the key in seeing if these two parties can work on a deal together. However, at face value, it would appear as though there would be better options for Presti to pursue in a George Hill trade.
