Miami gets a Big-3, Houston gets their picks back, OKC lands an SGA compliment

Though the New York Knicks are a team often finding themselves linked to Victor Oladipo, if rumors are true, the Miami Heat are the wing’s preferred choice and, quite frankly, the feeling appears to be mutual.

In this deal, we see Pat Riley once again bringing on a Big-3 down in South Beach, with ‘Dipo joining forces with Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo. The reigning Eastern Conference champions are hungry for more in their follow-up campaign and, though they have dealt with some hardships during this first-half schedule — injuries, COVID, etc. –, with them finally healthy they’ve managed to rattle off five victories in six games and get back to their winning ways.

Bringing on the former All-Star will only strengthen their chances of competing for the conference crown once more, especially considering they now have the star-studded Brooklyn Nets to compete with.

Houston brings back two picks in return to aid in their rebuilding endeavors and two expiring contracts in Kelly Olynyk and Myers Leonard to give themselves flexibility during this offseason’s free agency period to better surround current stud Christian Wood.

As for the OKC Thunder, they bring back the expiring and cost-heavy contract of Andre Iguodala but, in turn, make up for it a bit by also acquiring the young stud Kendrick Nunn.

Fresh off an All-Rookie First-Team campaign, the combo guard is finding himself in the midst of an even better sophomore season, averaging 14.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.1 steals per game on 48 percent shooting from the floor and 39 percent shooting from deep.

His two-way talent could mesh quite well right alongside Gilgeous-Alexander for years to come, and would certainly be seen as a core piece to this rebuilding Thunder squad.
