As of this moment, there are only 15 days to go till the league’s March 25th trade deadline, which means the front office for the OKC Thunder is gearing up for a busy two-week run.

Since the offseason, the expectation has been that this team will be in contention for the worst record in the league and, in turn, have a good chance at nabbing the top spot in the 2021 NBA Draft.

Instead, however, through the first 36 games played, the Thunder have found themselves closer to grasping onto a play-in tournament slot rather than a top-3 pick and, with this, some fans have begun to shift their desires from a full-out tank to, instead, competing to keep their five-year postseason streak alive.

No matter which route you expect this team to take, one thing can certainly be agreed upon: fans hope that Sam Presti and co. are active on the trade market.

OKC Thunder fans open to trading for young players at trade deadline

Though there are those who believe the OKC Thunder will simply just look to offload some of their veteran contracts such as Al Horford and George Hill in exchange for more draft capital and expiring contracts to clear cap space, recently fans took to the Twitterverse to discuss their openness to seeing the team look to add on some young second-chance talents as well.

Of the many ideas proposed, we at TI found that fans are seemingly interested in second-chance players we’ve already discussed the Thunder pursuing, such as Romeo Langford, Mo Bamba, and Nickeil Alexander-Walker just to name a few.

Due to this interest from the fans, in the weeks leading up to the deadline, we will be pushing out articles pertaining to ways in which OKC could go about acquiring such talents.
