With the All-Star break now in the rearview, the OKC Thunder look to kick off the second half of their 2020-21 season with a home tilt against the Dallas Mavericks this coming Thursday.

Through 36 games played, Oklahoma City has been quite an entertaining team to watch. Though their sub-.500 record of 15-21 may not outwardly show it, this team has been a challenge to go up against for virtually every opponent they’ve faced thus far.

From attaining unlikely victories against the Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks to down to the wire defeats against the likes of the Los Angeles Lakers (twice) and Denver Nuggets, fans of the franchise have been treated to some quality basketball to this point on the schedule.

The OKC Thunder have several questions that need answering heading into the second half of 2020-21

Now, as we embark on the final 36 games of the season, many questions pertaining to the OKC Thunder have begun to arise and, during this second half, fans are expecting to find answers.

Today, we present to you 3 burning questions we at TI have heading into this final stretch of the season:

OKC Thunder question No. 1) To tank or not to tank?

As we mentioned earlier, through the first half of the season the OKC Thunder played some fine basketball and saw themselves competing to the final buzzer in seemingly every outing.

While this may be a pleasant surprise for some, for others it’s a bit of a disappointment, as the expectation was, after the offseason wheeling and dealing, this team would look to tank their season away to better their chances at a top-tier pick in this upcoming draft class.

Now, with their production to date, some have begun to sway away from their desire to see a full-out tank job and, instead, hope to see the team stretch their playoff streak to six straight seasons.

With the fact that the league will have their first play-in tournament this year — which will involve seeds from seven to 10 going head-to-head to vie for a playoff spot — the Thunder could realistically find their way into yet another postseason, should they actually want to.

The fate of the season seemingly rests in the hands of the front office, which is why question number one bleeds perfectly into question number two…
