SGA just finished the third year of his rookie-scale contract. He was on a $4.1 million salary last season and then will be on a $5.5 million one next season thanks to his fourth-year team option being exercised by the Thunder in late December.
SGA is going to be eligible for his rookie max extension in the coming offseason where they are fortunate to have such a large amount of cap space. Given his levels of production, age, and appeal for others to want to play alongside him this is a tremendous contract.
Contract grade: A+
Season grades
Despite playing only 35 games, this was a successful season for SGA and the Thunder. He showed tremendous growth, both during games and at the very end. Being entrusted to hit the game-winner in your first game of the season that you are the main player is a huge step.
SGA had career highs in points and assists per game.
He was getting to the line 6.5 times per game, which is tremendous considering his slashing game. He also hit his 3-point shots at a career-best 41.8 percent from deep, and 50.8 percent from the floor.
The future is very bright.
Season grade: B+ A lower grade was given due to games played.
