Ranking 7 former OKC Thunder point guards 2021 playoff performances
Former OKC Thunder PG 2021 playoff performance: No. 5 – James Harden
Normally, this placement or James Harden would be considered sacrilege given his talent. However, the players who place ahead of the bearded man did more to help their teams.
In fairness, Harden was forced out of action due to his hamstring. It caused him to exit 43 seconds into Game 1 of the semi-finals versus the Bucks and to miss the next three matches. By the time he returned in Game 5 it was clear he wasn’t playing at full speed.
Prior to the injury Harden posted impressive contributions in five games versus the Celtics. He averaged 27.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, 10.6 assists, 2.0 steals, and 1.0 block in that first-round series.
Ignoring the 43 seconds of Game 1, he averaged 14.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, 8.0 assists, and 1.7 steals in the three contests versus the Bucks. The hamstring injury limited his ability to move and jump which was highlighted by his inability to drive or hit from deep. As for the latter, he shot 19.2 percent on 8.7 attempts from the perimeter.
