Pro Comparison:

More from Thunderous Intentions

One current (Richaun Holmes) and one former (Kendrick Perkins) NBA big man is offered up as comparisons for Day’Ron Sharpe by the analysts.

Sharpe should channel Holmes who has developed into a contributing big man and advance his offensive contributions. Perk as OKC Thunder fans know was more of a leader and defensive contributor but whose game and skills fit the old school era better.

OKC Thunder fit:

Sharpe projects to be selected late in the first round or early in the second. That means he might be on the board when Sam Presti makes the 34th pick (or the first OKC pick of the second round).

With many teams looking to bolster their frontcourt and enhance defensively, Sharpe is a prospect a team like the Brooklyn Nets would be better suited adding than the Thunder. Mark Daigneault and Presti no doubt will be keen to add more offense and Sharpe doesn’t fit that bill — at least enough to move the VP to push Sharpe ahead of other more logical choices.
