The OKC Thunder have a budding star on their hands in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. They just gave the 23-year-old point guard a max contract extension, he is being profiled by GQ at the Met Gala, and the fashion icon is one step closer to his line of shoes as Converse is releasing a special player exclusive (PE) shoe for SGA.

These shoes will release on October 1st, with a price tag of 75-dollars. Footlocker will drop at 10 eastern, as will Converse. You will want to get your hands on these sweet baby blue kicks.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander inked his deal with Converse in July of 2020. Instead of going the traditional Nike, Jordon, Adidas route, Gilegous-Alexander carved his path and he is by far Converse’s biggest star. It is no surprise the company is already building a collection around the 23-year-old.

These will be lifestyle shoes, good for fans to get their hands on the pro leader low top Converse shoes with a baby blue base and white accent colors. it is important to note, while these kicks will be attributed to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, these are not his signature footwear. Even Nike has yet to award Luka Doncic a signature shoe.

Doncic released PE’s of his last fall, and now SGA will have his player exclusive as well.

While you will not want to hit up your local pick-up runs with these shoes, they are great to wear to the Paycom Center and accompany your number two jerseys.

This is just a taste of what to expect from Shai in the future, it is clear fashion is his passion along with basketball, and shoe deals are the easiest way to mix the two. The Kentucky product said it himself, “Clothes and then basketball, that’s 1A and 1B.”
