The OKC Thunder welcome the Golden State Warriors to the Paycom Center for the second home game of the season for the Thunder. To this point in the year, the Oklahoma City Thunder have been fully healthy having all 17 players on the roster available for Mark Daigneault. That will change tonight against Golden State.
However, the Warriors are not taking the day off against the projected worst team in the Western Conference and 0-3 Bricktown Boys. Of course, lingering injuries to Klay Thompson, Jonathan Kuminga, and James Wiseman, keep those pieces out but Steve Kerr is not adding to the list just because of the opponent. That was a common occurrence against OKC a year ago, and likely will happen again this season as the year progresses.
The OKC Thunder will miss Favors, three others against the Warriors
The Oklahoma City Thunder will rest Derrick Favors tonight against the Golden State Warriors. The oldest player on the Thunder roster played in all three games for the Thunder so far this season, starting two of them, will not be out tonight.
Mark Daigneault will also be without Vit Krejci, Paul Watson Jr, and Aaron Wiggins who have all been assigned to the OKC Blue as the Oklahoma City Thunder G-League affiliate begins training camp and ramp up for the start of the NBA G-League season next Friday. The OKC Blue will be playing their home games in the Paycom Center this season which will begin on November 5th against the Salt Lake City Stars.
Vit Krejci was assigned to the Blue yesterday afternoon, while Paul Watson Jr and Aaron Wiggins are on two-way contracts which allows them to be active for 50 game-days with the NBA squad while being G-Leauge players.
The Golden State Warriors list Andre Iguodala as probable tonight against the OKC Thunder. The Warriors look to remain unbeaten as the Thunder gun for their first win of the year on the first night of a back-to-back.
Derrick Favors resting on the front end allows him to play on the second night of the back-to-back when the OKC Thunder welcome a much better team to the Paycom Center, the L.A. Lakers.
