OKC Thunder release their 2022 NBA Summer League Roster

The OKC Thunder will begin their 2022 NBA Summer League tonight, with participation in the Salt Lake City Summer League session. The Oklahoma City Thunder are in the midst of a rebuild and boast one of the youngest rosters in the NBA, and this is a stage where the youth movement in OKC can thrive. The Thunder will play three straight games in Salt Lake City before transitioning to the grand stage of the Vegas Summer League for five more contests starting July 9th.

The Oklahoma City Thunder announced their 2022 NBA Summer League roster yesterday and it only includes four players that are not on the team’s active roster.

OKC Thunder release their 2022 NBA Summer League roster, who are the top names to watch for during the summer league?

Here is a breakdown of the Thunder roster: 

Guards: 

  • Abdul Gaddy, G, 6’3, 200, Washington – Not on Thunder’s active roster
  • Josh Giddey, G, 6’8, 210, NBL
  • Vit Krejci, G, 6’8, 195, Czech Republic
  • Tre Mann, G,  6’5, 190, Florida
  • Jaden Shackelford, G, 6’3, 200, Alabama – Not on Thunder’s active roster
  • Lindy Waters III, G, 6’6, 215, Oklahoma State – Two-way Contract
  • Aaron Wiggins, G, 6’6, 200, Maryland
  • Jalen Williams, G, 6’6, 195, Santa Clara

Forwards:

Roster notes: 

  • OKC does not list any player as an exclusive Center
  • Chet Holmgren is now listed at 7’1
  • Abdul Gaddy is one of the best players to play for the OKC Blue over the last five seasons and racked up franchise numbers in the assist column
  • No Theo Maledon for now, he is playing in FIBA Qualifiers and it is unclear if he will join the team in Vegas afterward.
  • Every player is available starting in game one, July 5th, against the Utah Jazz
