The Thunder have built an incredibly fun Summer League roster that the team put out over the weekend. Not only does it feature all four rookies from this draft class, but key returning Thunder players like Josh Giddey, Tre Mann, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, Aleksej Pokusevski, Aaron Wiggins, Lindy Waters III, and Vit Krejci, who all bring unique storylines to the Summer festivities.
OKC Thunder get set to take on the Utah Jazz to open up game one of the 2022 NBA Summer League season for the boys in blue, what should you watch for?
Game Details:
TV: ESPN
Time: 8 p.m. CT
Location: Vivint Arena, Salt Lake City, Utah
What to watch for:
- Chet Holmgren making his NBA (Summer League) debut as the second overall selection in the 2022 NBA Draft and hopefully part of the cornerstone of the franchise
- Despite other reports, every player on the Thunder Summer League rosters will be available for Summer League head coach Kam Woods to use tonight
- Aleksej Pokusevski has to look noticeably better, he is running out of the organizational leash, while he will be on this year’s roster, without a big leap you could see a shake-up next summer
- This game could get wonky with Utah having Tacko Fall on their roster, you could see Tacko Fall (7’6), Chet Holmgren (7’1), and Aleksej Pokusevski (7’0) all on the floor at the same time
- Of course, all eyes will be on top Thunder performers from a year ago Josh Giddey and Tre Mann
- Does Josh Giddey’s jump shot look different?
- Jalen Williams playing on and off-ball as a guard, with questions about the crowded position how does Williams look in both settings? The Santa Clara product was excellent on the catch and shoot a year ago, let’s see if that carries over to the G-Leauge. I think Williams will become an instant fan favorite with his play tonight
- Vit Krejci is in the midst of his first healthy offseason in a long time, with some defensive improvement he becomes a really solid NBA Player, do we get a glimpse of that tonight?
- Eugene Omoruyi recently signed a two-way deal with OKC, tonight is the first look at him in a Thunder uniform
