The Oklahoma City Thunder have seen an offseason full of bad luck injuries. In August, the OKC Thunder lost their prize draft pick, Chet Holmgren, who was selected second overall in the 2022 NBA Draft before suffering a season-ending right foot injury in a pro-am event in Seattle. From there, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander suffered a grade 2 MCL sprain that has held him out of training camp to this point, Lu Dort was diagnosed with a concussion in the final practice before the first preseason game, and now head coach Mark Daigneault updates the media on the team’s injury report.

The OKC Thunder are three games into their preseason schedule, with the fourth game coming up on Sunday evening against Ra’anana Maccabi the final Non-NBA team the organization will face. This is also the last home preseason game, the next time the Bricktown faithful will get to see the Thunder will be October 23rd against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Oklahoma City Thunder bench boss Mark Daigneault announces Lu Dort is back, clearing concussion protocol ahead of their fourth preseason game

The OKC Thunder defensive star was excited at Media Day to get his season underway, 100 percent healthy heading into training camp after rehabbing from his shoulder surgery last spring. A week ago, Lu Dort suffered a concussion at practice that has held him out since October 3rd. On Sunday, he will make his season debut, clearing concussion protocol.

Kenrich Williams missed Thursday’s game against the 36ers with planned rest, but he will also miss Sunday’s contest with a groin injury. There is no timetable for his return.

OKC Thunder rookie, 12th overall pick, Jalen Williams still has not practiced since getting strep throat on Thursday which makes his return tomorrow doubtful, to say the least.

The OKC Thunder bench boss did not provide an update on rookie forward Ousmane Dieng (knee contusion) though he will be asked about it before tip-off tomorrow. Daigneault has already made it known he does not expect Mike Muscala (ankle) to participate in the preseason.
