Victor Wembanyama, next to Chet Holmgren, might break basketball.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have an insanely bright future with a mountain of future draft picks, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams, Josh Giddey, and Chet Holmgren the OKC Thunder are already a 40-win team before seeing their lone top-five pick step on the floor.

Chet Holmgren integrating with the Oklahoma City Thunder roster will already be a top storyline to follow next season, but what if the ping pong balls fall their way and the OKC Thunder have to work Victor Wembanyama into the mix at the same time?

Two of the best shot-blocking prospects, stretch bigs that can rebound, create, and push the pace playing together, would be an exciting basketball experiment. One that, if the Lottery is rigged, the league truly has to consider.

Imagining how elite the defense can be without Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Lu Dort, Chet Holmgren, and Victor Wembanyama as the core with Jalen Williams, who showed a lot of promise as a rookie defender along with an excellent defensive coaching staff.

Then on offense, a 30-point-per-game scorer gets way more space to operate with respectable offensive players around him stretching the floor. If that is not enough, one of the league’s best passers has two new weapons. Not to mention, the league’s second-best rookie turned Sophomore gets to play in a role he is comfortable in as an efficient scorer that makes the right plays.

This is all a pipe dream, with precisely a 1.7 percent chance of happening. But until NBA Draft Lottery night, it is okay to dream.
