The OKC Thunder have seen Josh Giddey perform well during the 2023 FIBA World Cup. Playing for Team Australia, Giddey looked improved and is being put in spots for great developmental opportunities. From the must-win nature of these games to performing in the clutch, Thunder fans should be excited about what they have seen from Josh Giddey thus far.

As the 20-year-old is leading the show for the Boomers in FIBA World Cup play, he also displayed bounce we have rarely seen at the NBA level on a massive poster during Sunday’s contest against Germany.

OKC Thunder players react to Josh Giddey’s massive poster slam from Sunday’s contest against Germany at the FIBA World Cup.

Josh Giddey only has 16 dunks to his name at the NBA level, 12 of which came last season for the former NBL star. To this point, the best dunk of his career came in the Summer League, which sparked an incredible reaction from now-sophomore Jalen Williams. The Santa Clara product once again is chiming on a Josh Giddey dunk.

While the OKC Thunder forwards are having fun at Josh Giddey’s expense, this has been a long-standing joke within the Oklahoma City Thunder locker room about Giddey’s lack of slams despite his near 6’9 frame.

Perhaps we will see more dunks in year three for Giddey at the NBA level; at just 20 years old, his game continues to expand with each passing day. Though, dunks from the Australian will never stop being jarring for the OKC Thunder faithful.
