Last year, the OKC Thunder were the surprise, up-and-coming team in the association that managed to surprise the masses and surpass virtually every preseason projection.

From their history-setting 57 regular season wins to their first playoff series victory in nearly a decade, Oklahoma City proved themselves to be not just arguably the best young team in the association but, frankly, one of the best clubs overall.

Now, with the Cinderella Story campaign in the rearview, the Thunder head into 2024-25 looking to prove that they're capable of taking another step forward toward legitimate title-favorite status, and the folks at Bleacher Report seem to be confident in their ability to do so with one of their latest pieces.

In an article recently penned by Eric Pincus, each team in the league was branded with a one-word descriptor following the bulk of offseason shenanigans and heading into next month's training camp.

And while many clubs received rather positive one-liners, the Thunder may have been rewarded with the best of them all, as the seasoned B/R writer labeled them as "ready" heading into the new year.

OKC Thunder tabbed as 'Ready' ahead of 2024-25 NBA season

Citing their clear rotational advancements this summer compared to last season what with the additions of Isaiah Hartenstein and Alex Caruso, Pincus suggests that the Thunder are even better than their number one seeded squad from 2023-24, and that they look "ready to challenge the West as a true contender."

Of course, the Bleacher Report veteran is far from the only individual to think so highly of Oklahoma City, as even the odds-makers have them registering in with the best odds to represent their respective conference in the 2025 NBA Finals and the second-best odds to take home the Larry O'Brien Trophy, behind only the reigning champion, Boston Celtics.

Heck, Pincus' own cohort at the publication, Grant Hughes could arguably be seen as being more bought into the hype surrounding Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and company moving forward, as he went as far as to suggest that they could very realistically be the league's next "dynasty" in a newly released piece.

Considering their level of star power, both established and budding, and deep rotation filled with highly versatile two-way players, it's safe to say that OKC is on its way toward accomplishing something truly special.

Though some may be of the belief that their window to win might not yet be open, Pincus is under the impression that 2024-25 could be their year.

In his eyes, they're "ready" to win now, and the franchise's faithful followers deserve to be excited to find out what could be right on the horizon.
