Trade No. 1

Atlanta have approximately $21.4 million in cap space and can’t absorb Anthony’s entire deal. In order for the trade to happen, OKC must acquire big man Dewayne Dedmon. The California native posted career highs in points (10.6), rebounds (7.9), assists (1.5), free throw percentage (77.5) and 3-point percentage (35.5).

The OKC Thunder already have two centers on the roster so Dedmon may want to be bought out in search of regular playing time. If he is willing to accept a reserve role, Dedmon adds depth to the front line.

Atlanta acquires a 2022-first round pick in exchange for Anthony’s ugly contract. Even though the pick is available four years from now, the 2022 draft stands to be one of the first without the ‘one and done’ rule. First round picks hold tremendous value in today’s NBA and are set to be worth even more when the talent pool expands.
