Honoring a friend:

As many of the shoes on this list, Westbrook’s “Tribute” colorway of the Why Not ZER0.1 tells a story. The story, along with the unique style, earns this shoe a spot on this top ten.

The dark blue body with white heels and soles match Westbrook’s old high school colors, where he played alongside his late teammate Khelcey Barrs. Westbrook and Barrs were best friends through childhood until Barrs passed away due to an enlarged heart just before their senior year. The tragedy inspired Westbrook’s unmatched work ethic, and he went on to fulfill the dream of playing collegiality and professionally.

Both Westbrook’s and Barrs’ old jersey numbers appear on the sole of the shoes, along with “KB3” on the tongue in Westbrook’s handwriting.

The Tribute colorway holds many memories for Westbrook, and it’s elegant design allows him to remember his best friend in style. The Tribute shoes released in March and are retail at $125.
