Definition of insanity ….

Inconsistency is a big reason why the Thunder are in the boat they’re in now. That is, they’ve traditionally been a great team, but ultimately flounders at some point in the playoffs. So the question must be asked, why do we lose games we are capable of winning?

Sure, there are nights when shots just don’t fall, like in the loss to the Mavericks on Saturday. Other times, the team just stops executing at critical moments like in the loss to the Clippers and Boston. A lot of that rests on Donovan and his ability to steer the plane in turbulence, which is something he hasn’t done well over the years. He’s a coach who doesn’t always have the right lineup in, struggles to draw up the right plays and his lack of adjustments made during games is reminiscent of Scott Brooks.

Time and time again, we’ve seen the Thunder shoot themselves right out of the games and grow stagnant on offense late in close games. Some critics are quick to point fingers at Westbrook for trying to do too much, but a lot of that is coaching as well. If it really was all Westbrook’s fault, there would probably be tension between him and Donovan.

It just seems like a team as talented as Oklahoma City should be higher than middle of the pack in offensive rating.
