Even stars lose their shine every once in a while.

Paul George hasn’t quite been his MVPG self as of late. Though still contributing 20 plus points most games, his recent shoulder injury woes have inhibited his elite passing and shooting skills the past couple weeks.

George delivered a respectable 14 points against the Jazz, but it simply wasn’t up to the MVPG standards Thunder Nation has come to love and expect.

Understandably, PG may have to go back to the basics with free throws and build from there. George went 10-12 at the penalty stripe last night while shooting 2-8 from the field and 0-3 from behind the arc.

Fortunately, Russell Westbrook brought enough star power to the court to lift his teammates and nearly logged another triple-double with a 23-11-8 stat line.

Westbrook has fought through his own shooting struggles this season, and George is now doing the same. Concerning as it may be to watch the Thunder’s stars struggle, it forces them to find a more team-centric balance on offense that will hopefully benefit the team in the long-term throughout the playoffs.
