The revamped and bolstered Nets:

Although he’s expected to miss the season as he nurses back to health from his torn Achilles Tendon these meetings will still draw interest just because it is Kevin Durant’s new team. Mind you with an April match there is the possibility the Thunder may get to see KD in action.

All last season many felt KD would bolt form the Bay prior to the Warriors moving to the new Chase Center in San Francisco. Many expected him to move to New York but it was thought he’d wind up playing for the Knicks.

Then the Achilles injury happened, the Knicks lost out on Zion and the rest is history. Even though Durant won’t be playing this Nets team was an exciting squad last season and bolstered their roster with Kyrie Irving and DeAndre Jordan. The Nets are already claiming they intend to compete for the title which might be a bit of a reach this coming season without Durant, but they’ll be in the mix.

The teams will play each other twice just like all Eastern versus Western Conference teams do in season. Those dates are:

  • January 7 at 7:30 p.m. CT at Barclays Centre
  • April 7 at 7:00 p.m. CT at Chesapeake Energy Arena

Last season the Thunder swept the two-game series:

  • December 5 at Barclays in a win 114-12
  • March at home in a win: 108-96
