Who should OKC Thunder target in Central division at deadline?

Chicago Bulls are open for business…or, are they?

Alright, it is time to get down to business. With the Chicago Bulls, I feel like I am starting a Jerry Seinfeld stand-up special. I mean, what’s the deal with the Chicago Bulls? Are they selling? Is Zach LaVine untouchable? Is he available?

For the Chicago Bulls, they entered the season with playoff aspirations. Not contending, but like a solid 7th or 8th seed. That seemed very realistic preseason, and even I bought into that notion. However, this season quickly went off the rails as they currently sit with a 19-33 record, but surprisingly just 4.5 games out of the 8th seed. So they really sit in one of the worst spots in the NBA.

Do they want to keep the band together, and try and make up this ground in the last stretch of the season? Do they want to blow it up and rebuild? Is there even a wrong answer for them?

I do not think in any world that the Bulls will be buyers, but I am also not sold on them being sellers. I think they will land in that middle group of doing absolutely nothing.

I was sold on this position when the long-time reporter and respected journalist Marc Stein said the high flying (and now participant in the three-point contest) Zach Lavine is “off-limits.” That was the opposite of what Matt Moore (aka Hardwood Paroxysm) said. Moore put on Twitter that he has heard LaVine’s name out and about in connection to possible trades.

Although Hardwood Paroxysm is one of my favorite follows on Twitter, I tend to lean toward Stein in this one and think the Bulls are making the 24-year-old untouchable.

Ultimately, I do not think anything between Chicago and the OKC Thunder will materialize.
