October 23rd at the Utah Jazz:

In the opening game of the 2019-20 season, Chris Paul made his debut for the team on the road in Utah. Although the OKC Thunder lost the game the veteran guard served notice he was far from over the hill.

Paul delivered a stat line of 22 points, eight rebounds, three assists, one steal, and connect on four of his seven 3-point shots.

October 30th versus Blazers, November 5th versus Magic:

In the fifth match of the season, the team lost a squeaker by three points to the Blazers. Paul was already showcasing how his clutch skills would become a factor as he scored 11 of his 21 points and dished two of his five assists in the fourth quarter. In addition, he added five rebounds and two steals.

In these early October games, it was clear the crew were still figuring out their system and chemistry. By early November although the team was still struggling to mesh their chemistry the duo of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Paul were already looking like they’d played together for years. In the match versus the Magic, they combined for 44 points.
