OKC Thunder: 35 moments in honor of Chris Paul’s 35th birthday
December 6th versus Minnesota Timberwolves:
In what might be better described as The Shirt Gate Game, Chris Paul affected matters all over the hardwood. He scored 30 points, grabbed four rebounds, and dished seven dimes but it was his knowledge of the rule book that played a key factor in the Thunder winning the overtime contest.
With Karl-Anthony Towns at the line, CP3 pointed out Jordan Bell‘s shirt was untucked which is considered a ‘delay of game’, and since Paul knew the Wolves already had picked up one delay of game this meant OKC got a technical free throw.
The Thunder weren’t out of the woods yet, however, as they still trailed the match, and KAT had another free throw. Although the Wolves big man was supposed to miss (presumably) the toss at the line he connected. The ensuing inbound offered up the delightful full-court football pass from Steven Adams to an awaiting Dennis Schroder who dropped in the basket just prior to the horn to force overtime.
