Pro Comparison:

The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor has suggested comparisons of Green’s game to Gary Harris, Danny Green, and Mickael Pietrus.

There are some noticeable similarities. One thing this showcases is the possibility for Green like his namesake to be someone that makes a major difference on a team without needing to run the offense.

Some of these characteristics the 20-year old is already showing, being ready to take big shots and embracing his responsibility. The comparison to Harris who is a sensational defender and has shown that in the clutch, is plausible. These guys are also great scorers off the ball which the Arizona prospect does well.

As three-and-d specialists, they provide a great model for Green as he enters his rookie year on the professional hardwood.

OKC Thunder fit:

As I mentioned earlier, Green has qualities reminiscent of current Thunder players. Not all but some that remind me of Hamidou Diallo and in terms of his slashing, like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

If history is anything to go by, it’s safe to say that the Thunder would take a chance with someone like Green. Presti has shown an interest in wing players with shooting upside and dynamic skills in the past.

The question however is if the Thunder are prepared to take on another player with scoring potential. The positive is that time is on their side and they have assets that Presti could use to make big moves at any time. They also aren’t in any rush and have their main operator in SGA. So they will be able to help Green grow on and off the court.

In my opinion, I believe Green would be suitable in the OKC environment especially with his defensive talent. The only reason I’d say otherwise is due to the Thunder needing another big man. But that aside, explosiveness and the Thunder – they’re meant to be, so we’ll just have to wait and see how it all pans out.
