Work on his 3-point shot

While Diallo gets a lot of game time based on his defense and ability to change momentum with his dunks, he could get more. The weakest link in Diallo’s game is his 3-point shooting and this has an impact on the spacing for the OKC Thunder.

As stated earlier, Diallo went from making 16.7 percent of his attempts from deep to making 28.1 percent. While this growth is good from year one to year two, he needs to get this over the 30 percent mark, preferably heading up towards 35 percent for next season.

If Diallo can make opposition defenders respect his shot, they are not going to be able to effectively defend his drives to the hoop. This will then give the second unit another inside/outside threat now that Dennis Schroder has reportedly been sent to the Los Angeles Lakers.

This offseason looks like it is going to be a firesale so that the OKC Thunder can rebuild. Diallo has the chance to be a big part of that so long as he continues to develop. At the age of 21, he is the right age for the Thunder rebuild timeline.Β  If he does not improve his 3-point shooting, however, he may not get the opportunity.
