No. 2 available prospect for OKC Thunder: Alperen Sengun

The OKC Thunder traded away the 16th pick in the draft to acquire two more future first-round picks. This development is not what is surprising. However, what is surprising is the OKC Thunder selected Alperen Sengun with the 16th overall pick and traded him away to Houston!

According to NBA.com, Sengun is a 6-foot-9, 240 pound center from Turkey, where he led the Turkish league in per-minute scoring and offensive efficiency.

OKC Thunder fans have been clamoring to fill the center position, and this would have been a perfect fit, in my opinion.

There could be a chance that Presti is holding out for next year’s draft where the odds for landing a skilled big-man are more significant, but I still cannot understand why the Thunder let Sengun slip between their proverbial fingertips.

Sengun can handle the ball, pass. He even has a decent jump shot, which comes at a premium in today’s game, especially for a big.

Check out some highlights from Sengun during the Summer League!

Alperen Sengun will be a productive big in today’s game. It is just unfortunate he will be producing in Houston and not in OKC.
