The OKC Thunder revealed their 2023 NBA Training Camp roster ahead of their annual Media Day on Monday. This roster shows critical improvements from last season’s squad, with multiple members of the Thunder roster all gaining a ton of muscle.
With the OKC Thunder at max capacity already, the Oklahoma City Thunder did not see any surprise additions on exhibition ten contracts/training camp deals. The OKC Thunder will have to cut three standard contracts before the start of the Regular Season but can use training camp to help determine who those cuts will be.
Sam Presti has already informed us that Victor Oladipo will not actually report to training camp despite his inclusion on the training camp roster. He is one of the three odd men out as he continues to rehab from an injury he suffered a year ago.
The OKC Thunder released the 2023 Training Camp Roster with key improvements from many players on the roster.
The Oklahoma City Thunder released their 2023-24 training camp roster before their annual NBA Media Day. According to Mark Daigneault, Training Camp will begin on Tuesday and run for approximately 13 days. In between, the Thunder will play some important preseason games. Including against Victor Wembanyama’s Spurs on October 9th, the Pistons in Montreal, the Hornets in Charlotte, the Pistons again in Tulsa, and the new-look Bucks in Oklahoma City.
The OKC Thunder do not have any roster surprises, but they have seen some critical improvements from their players in a vital category…muscle gain. As just a few highlight examples, Josh Giddey is up eight points, Aleksej Pokusevski has gained ten, and Chet Holmgren has put on 13 pounds of muscle.
Chet Holmgren is the name that every OKC Thunder fans is most concerned about, figure-wise, and seeing him in person at Media Day today, he was noticeably bigger.
